Dues and Don'ts!

This was quite an interesting episode with a lot of funny quotes. It started with the trio encountering TR dressed as football players. Their motto was funny:

Jessie: Prepare for trouble, don't drop the ball!
James: And make it double with an offsides call!
Jessie: To protect our team we won't call it quits!
James: We'll unite our runners with a fourth-down blitz!
Jessie: To denounce the evils of an eighth-round pick!
James: To extend our reach with a three-point kick!
Jessie: Jessie!
James: James!
Jessie: Team Rocket does one for the giver at the speed of light!
James: No timeouts, the clock's running, so let's fight fight fight!
Meowth: Touchdown, that's right!

The football bomb they had was a funny idea, and seeing Ash and Brock send it back with pretty strong kicks was surprising. After they landed from being blasted off, the "meeting" they called was hilarious, how they voted on who caused most of their problems and it ended up in one big fight. Guess that's the writers' subtle way of poking good-natured fun at the government. Meowth's line fit with that theory: "If dat's da Democratic way I'm votin' Republican."
This episode also served to introduce Delibird to the anime. When Team Rocket encountered it and were battling it, Delibird used Blizzard on them. Then came another funny quote:

James: "How do you know it's a Blizzard attack?"
Jessie: "Maybe because we're in a blizzard?"
James: "Oh...that makes sense."

Seeing Jessie, James, and Meowth's reactions to finding out they were removed from Team Rocket was hilarious. I liked how Team Rocket was shown as a real organization in this episode when the recruiter talked about how Jessie and James hadn't paid their dues or contributed to stuff like pensions. When J&J confronted the "twerps" again as part of their test, Jessie's line about Team Jet and Team Helicopter was also funny. During the battle, it was too bad Phanpy got Frozen by that Blizzard, but it was at the type disadvantage anyway so that was to be expected. Seeing Delibird's Present heal Pikachu after another Present had hurt it was cool. Pikachu's reaction was great. It was really ticked off then, and launched the most powerful Thunder attack I've ever seen it use, blasting off the Rockets.
Learning of Wendy, the TR data entry girl, and her long-standing grudge against Jessie over something as minimal as a fruit smoothie, as well as Wendy getting her revenge, was hilarious. At the end, J, J & M got hit with yet more bad news, that Delibird would collect their dues every month. It was interesting how they kinda viewed that as a mixed blessing--they'd have to try and pay, but they could still use Delibird to try and capture Pikachu.

An original, excellent episode, that had another appearance by Giovanni (haven't seen him in a while) and gave us a slightly deeper look into the workings of Team Rocket.
